Why is My Diet/Coaching Program Not Working?

The fact is, there is a very high failure rate among all of the various diet plans and coaching programs.
This includes the fad diets such:
Keto,
Atkins,
Paleo,
Carnivore,
Mediterranean,
supplements for weight loss,
medical programs with and without pharmaceutical use,
various other programs.
Unfortunately, most people who want to lose weight have an urgency to get their weight off quickly.
They have spent many years getting to their current condition,
They don’t want to wait to get down to their ideal weight.
The weight loss programs know this and take advantage of the overweight person’s urgency and lack of knowledge about weight loss.
The programs promise extraordinary weight loss knowing that it is unachievable.
When you fail to achieve the promised weight loss,
They use the disclaimer that everyone is not the same.
Your body must be more resistant to weight loss, so you will have to work harder at losing your weight.
A well known and obvious fact is that everyone has different tastes in food.
The food that these programs suggest you eat rarely corresponds to the foods that you like to eat.
Making the radical changes to your diet that they require makes it extremely difficult for you to maintain their diet.
You are miserable the entire time,
eventually, you revert to your old eating habits.
This may be before or even after you reach your weight goal.
Your eating style is what caused you to be fat in the first place.
Now that you have returned to it, you will of course get fat again.
A most unfortunate aspect of these programs is that they do not focus on nutrition.
Most of them claim that their diets are healthy.
The truth is,
since most people are in a hurry to lose weight,
the programs’ diets are aimed at causing you to lose weight quickly,
not make you nutritionally healthy.
In doing so, they must bypass much of the needed nutritional aspects of their diet in order to reduce your caloric input sufficiently to cause the expected weight loss.
Since health is the most important aspect of your life, you should be focusing on nutritional health.
Weight loss will come as a natural consequence of being healthy.
Most programs are going to suggest that you use some type of exercise to help you lose weight.
Exercise is absolutely imperative in achieving optimum health,
It has no place in a weight loss program.
This is because you can easily outeat a pretty intense exercise program.
Using exercise as part of your weight loss program is very unproductive
is very frustrating
can be counterproductive.
You should exercise to improve your physiological fitness,
don’t do this until you have improved your nutritional state.
To do so may actually make your physiological fitness worse
because exercise uses up nutritional sources that you are not replenishing through a proper healthy diet.
The last thing that I will touch on in this BLOG is maintainability.
Most people think that once they reach their desired weight,
they can just return to their previous habits.
This is of course a fallacy.
It is your previous habits that caused your problem in the first place.
Returning to them will cause you to reverse everything that you accomplished and you will be right back where you started,
usually you are worse off,
gaining more weight than you lost,
probably being more nutritionally deficient.
