Is your diet the best it can be?

  • Decades of misinformation has led to a false sense of healthy eating.

There is NO objective way to evaluate health.

So how do you really know how healthy you are?

There are some subjective ways to evaluate your health:

  • Truly healthy people:

    • Rarely get sick.

    • If they do, symptoms are very mild.

    • Have fewer diseases such as heart and cognitive diseases.

    • Have fewer cancers.

    • Engage in more physical activity.

    • Are more productive.

    • Recover more quickly after injury or surgery.

The beginning of optimum health is a proper diet.

 

Most weight loss programs do NOT promote the best nutrition:

  • All of them have some agenda they want you to embrace.

  • Most of them have skewed the true information to meet their agenda.

  • How do you know which information is correct and which has been skewed?

  • Diet program examples

    • The United States Department of Agriculture has its MyPlate plan. It has some good information, but does not help you apply it in a way that is useful. This probably results in more confusion than help.

    • The Mediterranean diet is purported to not only be a good diet plan but a healthy way to eat in general. This is in fact true. However, there are many ways to implement a Mediterranean style diet, and all Mediterranean style diets are not the most healthy and good weight loss diets.

    • Many diet plans, such as the "Keto diet," are just unhealthy and may even put your health at risk depending on any underlying health conditions you may not know about. These diets can result in more harm than good. They rarely, if ever, result in long term weight loss and definitely do not result in improved health.

    • you may discover that you are doing great and just need to keep up what you are doing

    • on the other hand, you may just discover that you are not eating as healthily as you think, and will be able to vastly, (or even minimally is extremely valuable), improve your diet and associated health.
